UX3D’s Involvement with Khronos
Membership and Collaboration
UX3D has been a proud member of the Khronos Group since 2017. Our intensive collaboration, particularly in specifying the glTF 2.0 file format, has earned us significant trust within the member community.
Building the Ground Truth 3D Viewer
We were commissioned to build a ground truth 3D viewer according to the specifications of key Khronos members such as Nvidia, Ikea, Autodesk, Shopify, Google, Meta, and many more. This viewer provides market participants and 3D web viewer manufacturers with a benchmark for quality standards. This initiative led to certification by the 3D Commerce standard group for 3D viewers. Notable viewers like three.js, babylon.js, and model-viewer adhere to this quality standard, promoting a nearly uniform display of 3D web content across almost all WebGL-capable browsers.

Maintaining High-Quality Standards
We are particularly proud that Khronos has once again selected UX3D to uphold the high-quality standards of the Khronos glTF Sample Viewers in 2024. Our role includes maintaining and expanding the viewer with new features and upgrades, ensuring it continues to meet the evolving needs of the industry.
